Bankim, Cameroon — Guardians of Art, Memory & Royal Tradition. A living kingdom with unbroken lineage and extraordinary artistic mastery.
This digital heritage museum is created under the direct authorization of Prince Guika Guikong, Royal Honorific of the Tikar Kingdom (Royal Act No. 017), Diaspora Governance Representative of the United Kingdoms of Tikar (UKT).
The Tikar are a Central African ethnic group whose ancestral homeland lies in the Tikar Plain of Cameroon. Their migration story spans over 150-250 years from the Arabian Peninsula through Egypt and Sudan.
Organized under the United Kingdoms of Tikar (UKT), the kingdom preserves territorial structure, royal traditions, and national symbols that connect the present to an unbroken chain of ancestral power.
Tikar ceremonies honor ancestral spirits through funerals, weddings, and initiation rites, maintaining spiritual continuity that stretches back centuries.

Tikar artisans demonstrate exceptional skill in wood carving that ranks among the finest in Africa. The 42-inch royal throne is carved from a single piece of wood by a master artisan working under royal commission — every geometric pattern carries meaning, every human figure represents a connection between the living ruler and the ancestral line.

Masks in Tikar culture are not decorative objects — they are sacred vessels through which ancestral spirits manifest in the physical world.
"The Tikar Kingdom is not a relic of the past — it is a living, breathing civilization with an unbroken royal lineage, a thriving culture, and a global diaspora that carries its legacy forward."
— Prince Guika Guikong, Royal Honorific of the Tikar Kingdom
